The Research, Education, and Economics Information System (REEIS) is a congressionally mandated system designed to serve Research, Education, and Economics (REE) mission agencies of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and their State and private partners, as well as Congress and the public. This system is designed using Oracle Database Management Systems and is implemented using Oracle 10g/11gPortal at the front end. Tangible Technologies was hired as a sub-contractor in August of 2002 to help meet a short deadline. As a result of timely help provided by Tangible, Barquin offered to bring Tangible on board long term.
With the help of Tangible Technologies consultants REEIS is back on track and has been successfully implemented. The website which is designed using Oracle Portal is available to public and can be viewed at http://www.reeis.usda.gov

Eventually, the scope of the engagement expanded to other applications in the agency including:
• CRIS – Current Research Information System
• LMD – Leadership Management Dashboard
• POW – Plan of Work
• REEport – Research, Education and Extension Project Reporting Tool

“I would highly recommend Tangible Technologies and its consultants to any company looking to partner with highly motivated and talented IT people. We certainly value their partnership and look forward to a long successful relationship.”
Owen Dall, Chief System Architect, Barquin International
